To compete for Trinity you will need a singlet, (white with two maroon bands). If you want to buy your own, talk to one of the committee members at the next competition, or at training. Singlets cost €20. Tracksuits are red with the TCD crest on the front and black bottoms. These are ordered every year and usually cost about €60 for top and bottoms. There are also grey club hoodies available for €20.

If you want to compete in AAI events as well as intervarsity ones, (for example so you can compete during the summer also) and want to join a club in Dublin we have associations with various AAI clubs. If you are a middle/long distance runner, Metro St Bridgets is Mick's club - ask him on a Tuesday or Saturday. Many of our members are attached to other clubs including Raheny Shamrocks, Crusaders AC, Rathfarnham AC and Clonliffe Harriers. Ask one of the committee members at training about joining.

Events Throughout the Year

Colours Road Relays:
The first chance to sharpen your spikes against old-time rivals UCD. This team event consists of 1-2-1 mile legs. This is a fun event to start the season and is usually followed by a club get-together in the Pavilion Bar.

Intervarsity Road Relays:
The first intervarsity competition of the season which takes place in NUI Maynooth during November. It consists of 1-2-3-2-1 mile legs for the men and a 1-2-2-1 mile legs for the women. There is usually a big DUHAC group present as we can enter as many team as we want. Followed by a night-out in the city centre.

Indoor Track & Field:
An Intervarsity event which is held in early February in Athlone, giving the first chance for the track and field enthusiasts to get racing, throwing and jumping. The recently opened 200m track provides for exciting racing.

Colours Cross Country:
This is a friendly race between U.C.D. and Trinity. The women's race is usually over two miles while the men's is usually about five miles. The hosts arrange a small get-together afterwards. The sole aim of this race is to finish ahead of U.C.D. (one way or another).

Intervarsity Cross Country:
Prepare for some serious competition over 8-10kms for men or 4-6kms for women. After the race there is a meal and prize-giving, followed by some intense partying!.

Colours Track & Field:
This is a friendly event between U.C.D. and Trinity and a good chance to practice for Intervarsities. The event is usually held in Irishtown, just before the main Track & Field Championships.

Intervarsity Track & Field:
The biggest competition of the university athletics year, and the afterparty is even bigger! It is a two day event held over a Friday and Saturday in April.

111 mile relay:
One of DUHAC's main fundraising events, usually held near the end of Hilary Term. Participants complete a number of laps of the college's half-mile loop until the magic number of 111 miles is reached. Club members will be collecting money throughout the day near the Pav.

Chariots of Fire:
This event is held during Trinity Week. It starts with your foot against the Rubricks. You run under the Campanile, around Front Square and finish under the Campanile. Prizes include Garden Party tickets and lots more. To keep with tradition the bells of the Campanile ring out across Front Square during the final. An excellent way to end the season as the winner is never certain due to the merciless cobble stones.

College Races:
These are held during Trinity Week in College Park and all students are welcome to compete. The serious events include 100m (M&W), 400m (M), 800m (W) and The College Mile (M), along with a huge range of novelty races, including the sack race and the Tug-of-War. This event has a great tradition and always has good prizes. A fun day immediately before the exams!!!
